PERSONALITY:
Lift is a street urchin with the attitude to match. She’s scrappy, sarcastic and often wears a blithe attitude like an armor. Even when heading straight into danger to save people, she claims she’s only doing it because the place has delicious pancakes. She likes to tease her spren Wyndle, calling him a “voidbringer” (the bad guys) just to piss him off. She also has no respect for authority: when her friend becomes ruler of his kingdom, she gleefully teases his servants and generally drives everyone in the palace crazy. She's also audacious enough to appear uninvited in visions of a God-like being, give everyone attitude and break the vision. Though a clever survivor, Lift is still very much a child, uninterested in the complicated “why” of things. She treats her powers the same way, often tuning off Wyndle’s attemps to explain them.

Lift has an unusual perspective on morality and life in general. She sees nothing wrong in stealing as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone, and is completely uninterested in money or valuables. Instead, she breaks into places to eat people’s dinner and generally steals food for sports. She’s smarter than she seems, but even her more astute observations are rooted in odd ideas. For example, she was distrustful of Dalinar Kholin because his butt was “too nice” - according to Lift, older men only have nice butts when they spend all their time fighting rather than sitting at a desk. Granted, Dalinar did have to work through his bloody past to get people to trust him, but that doesn’t make Lift’s thinking process any less… unique.

Lift doesn’t want to grow up. She seeked out the a magical being called the Nightwatcher and asked her “to never change”. She insists she’s ten years old and any evidence to the contrary (getting taller, getting her period) cause her great distress. The reason is yet to be explained, but likely has to do with Lift’s dark past. She's an orphan with terrible memories from the city she grew up in and Wyndle mentiones she'd see seen a lot of death in her thirteen years.

She feels uncomfortable staying in one place too long, because then people get to know her and want things from her. She’d rather wander around and decide things on a whim, and resents anything that might change her. She turned her back on the comforts of her friend’s palace, because the mere opportunities such life implied scared her and made her feel like it would consume her.

Despite her harsh circumstances, Lift remains a kind and caring girl. She tried to stop caring once, but it felt worse than death. At the canon point I’m taking her from, she spoke the second and third ideals of her order - “I will remember those who have been forgotten” and “I will listen to those who have been ignored”. Indeed, Lift cares mostly about the little people because, as she puts it, someone has to care. She repeatedly ran into danger to save a “small" life, even though it could cost her own. At another occasion, she toppled a grain cart into a poor immigration district before making her escape. She’s so compassionate she even hugged the guy who chased her across the continent and kept trying to kill her, because he was suffering. Lift may be rough around the edges, but she’s a good kid.

CANON POWERS:
Lift is a Knight Radiant - a person granted magical powers by bonding with a spren. She belongs to the Edgedancers order, which grants her control over abrasion (able to become slippery and ignore friction) and progression (green thumb/healing powers). Like all Knights Radiant, she can turn her spren into a weapon, though Wyndle detests violence and would rather be a an elegant utensil. He will change if Lift needs to defend herself, but he opposes to her hitting people with him.

Thanks to a boon from the Nightwatcher, Lift exists partially in the "cognitive realm", which grants her several unique abilities. She can touch Wyndle, see irregularities in people's souls and convert food into stormlight. Stormlight is what allows Knights Raidant to use their power and usually has to be inhaled from charged gems. Lift, however, can do it directly through ingesting food. This means she gets hungry frequently and can’t use her powers on an empty stomach.

MAGIC ABILITY: The ability to create food items with healing properties. At first they will only cure minor ailments and make those who consume them feel generally refreshed. With practice, she'll be able to create more potent heals - the price being quantity (so she will have to choose between a single item per day that can cure a major ailments, or seveal minor heals). More conditions/limitations:
- can only create food she’d seen before/familiar with
- can’t create a container (so if she makes soup appear, she’ll need a bowl or else it’ll just spill)
- the process consumes energy, so the hungrier she is the less food she can make
- can’t heal herself or replenish her own energy by eating the food she makes, though everyone else may enjoy it
